February 8, 2026

At the meeting, Blair Horner will review the governor’s proposed budget, the impact of changes enacted by President Trump and the Congress, and some of the top issues that are upcoming during the remainder of the legislative session.

Blair Horner has worked at the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) almost continually since 1979. He had served as special advisor on policy and public integrity to the NYS attorney general from February 2007 to March 2008. He then served for a two-year period, 2011 to 2013 as the Vice President for advocacy for the American Cancer Society of New York and New Jersey, after which he returned to NYPIRG.

Blair served as executive director of NYPIRG over the ten-year period that ended this year. He now serves as its Senior Policy Advisor and is the organization’s lead advocate on proposals to reform government in multiple issue areas.
